The Salomon Speedcross has been a legend and a staple in the trail running scene for years. With every edition it improves on what it already had sent the benchmarks for - grip, cushioning and stability. Now this new model, No. 5 features even better stability, a more dynamic upper, as well as improved grip in all conditions. In particular the grip is improved for both breaking and forward momentum. 

The Salomon Speedcross 5 wide has 12mm more circumference around the foot than the standard model. It's obviously great for those with slightly wider feet but also for those that run a long way and need to make sure their toes have plenty of space. They have a heel to toe drop of 10mm and feature Salomon's Energy Cell cushioning which is a high rebound midsole compound that provides comfort and exceptional energy return for efficient running.
